Writer and screenwriter Ivo Brešan was born on May 27 in Vodice, and through this program we want to honor him in his birthplace. The primary goal of the program is to present and explore the various dimensions of Brešan's literary and artistic oeuvre from different perspectives, from theater and drama, film, literary theory, history, sociology, anthropology, linguistic, culture to all others that will contribute to a more thorough understanding and insight into this specific and valuable opus in the form of a scientific colloquium.

The walking tour led by a licensed tour guide starts in the port (at the Jadrolinija ticket kiosk), and is held in English and Croatian. The tour is free, and the participants pay for the boat tickets themselves.

Start: You come to the foot of the Okit hill by your own means of transport (3 km from the center of Vodice), you can even walk there from the city center. The walking tour starts from the foot of the Okit Hill, at the top of which is the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Carmel. Walking to the top and back downhill is a total distance of 1600 m.
Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes. The pace of the tour is suitable for all ages.

During the month of May, there are many events that mark the City of Vodice Day, which is on May 3rd.
Vodice Tourist Board is organizing a picnic in Rakitnica for all citizens and guests of Vodice. The picnic is held by the church of St. John, with participation of the music ensemble and the Cultural Association Vodiške perlice, which will show the traditional customs of preparing wild greens and polenta. At 11:15 a guided walking tour starts from the picnic location to the Liburnian-Roman site on Velika Mrdakovica. The picnic starts at 10:00 with transportation from the Vodice bus station organized for all visitors from 9:30, every half hour.
