Presentation of the Monograph “Mile Mićin”
At the City Library of Vodice, on Thursday, October 30, a monograph dedicated to our distinctive and talented artist Mile Mićin will be presented, along with an exhibition of his works.
Mićin’s creativity is deeply woven into the cultural identity of Vodice, and this publication offers an overview of his rich artistic legacy.
The event is organized by the Art Association More, under the patronage of the City of Vodice and in partnership with the City Library of Vodice.
Mile Mićin was born in Vodice in 1932.
Throughout his prolific career, he successfully expressed himself through painting, sculpture, glasswork, mosaics, stained glass, graphics, restoration, design, and above all, innovation — making it no surprise that he is featured in the Croatian Art Encyclopedia.
Mićin graduated from the School of Applied Arts in Zagreb, Painting Department, in the class of Professor Ivan Šelebaj.
He later collaborated in the glass studio of master Raul Goldoni in Samobor.
As a young artist, he lived and worked in Rome and Tuscany, where he exhibited regularly, and his works adorn many sacred and private spaces throughout Italy and Europe.
Upon returning to Vodice, he founded the legendary atelier-gallery in the Čorić Tower, where he worked actively and contributed to the development of tourism in Vodice.
In 1984, he left Vodice again to live and work in Zadar, where he received the Grand Prix for the souvenir “St. Donatus.”
His final project, the Rotonda Atelier in the Vodice countryside, where he planned to gather his life’s work, was left unfinished due to his passing in 2014.
