Endless Lines by Elisabeth Schratl - exhibition opening
The Vodice Public Open University invites you to the grand opening of the exhibition of the Austrian artist Elisabeth Schratl, ENDLESS LINES - MAN AND NATURE, on Thursday, June 9th at 8 pm in the atrium of the Vodice Cultural Center.
Elisabeth Schratl, born in Austria in 1982, is a self-taught artist who perfected her love and talent for painting by completing courses led by academic painter Nerica Abdulić-Osmančević, a Bosnian-Herzegovinian watercolorist and Viennese artist, academic painter Erik Aspöck.
The most common motifs in Elisabeth's paintings are people and landscapes, created in various techniques. Sometimes her drawings are monochromatic, created by skillful strokes of pencil and charcoal, and sometimes by the delicate colors of acrylic and tempera.
Since 2010, she has been drawing portraits of writers, conveying the visual impression of the writers after reading their books. She exhibits these works under the title "Bookart - the visual impression of a read book" in several galleries in Austria: Rotunde der Salzburg and in Scolarta.
The cycle of landscape drawings with motifs from the Pinzgau area and Bosnia and Herzegovina was exhibited in 2018 in the gallery of the Sveti Anto Monastery in Sarajevo. Last year, the artist exhibited portraits of award-winning writers for the Rauris Literary Prize at the Vogelmaiergalerie in Rauris.
The exhibition will be open until July 15th.
