Poetry, music and theatre were the artistic coordinates of the undoubtedly most significant Croatian singer-songwriter, one of the best poets of our language and a composer whose compositions outlived the stage performances for which they were written. Therefore, there was nothing more natural than to start poetic and musical evenings called “Arsenov feral” in Arsen Dedić’s hometown and in the theatre where he was both author, performer and audience, long before the virtuous, new world showed itself in its bad form.

Taking Arsenov as a landmark meant, however, the possibility of finding one’s way even in circumstances in which culture was left without the most important thing – without direct contact with the audience. Thus, “Arsenov feral” also proved to be a format in which the HNK Šibenik could operate regardless of the pandemic restrictions, offering content that is equally suitable for live performances and via online platforms.

At the same time, all of ours, or rather "Arsenov feral", were a guide for researching his work and that of other poets, and all dimensions of the unification of theatre, poetry and music, but in such a way that what must be most important remains highlighted when an entire programme is dedicated to a great poet.

Initially conceived as one of the accompanying programmes produced by the Croatian National Theatre Šibenik, "Arsenov feral" has proven to be a valuable and recognizable content of Šibenik theatre. And that, no matter how it may sound, is the merit of Arsen Dedić: when you rely on the greatest in art, then the limitations do not apply and the possibilities become endless, and all that needs to be done is to surrender to his legacy, to which "Arsenov feral" is a dedication that lasts and changes.
