65th Croatian Amateur Theatre Festival
The 65th Festival of Croatian Amateur Theatres will once again take place this year—its eleventh consecutive year—at the Cultural Centre Vodice. The event is organized by the Croatian Cultural Association and the Vodice Centre for Arts and Culture. During the six festival days, from Thursday, April 24 to Sunday, April 27, and from Saturday, May 3 to Sunday, May 4, a total of twenty-two performances will be staged, representing the best Croatian amateur theatre productions of the year.
More than 300 theatre enthusiasts from all over the country will perform on the stage of the Vodice Cultural Centre, offering the audience a rich and diverse dramatic program. The selected groups earned their place at the Festival from among 152 submitted performances, thanks to a selection jury of top theatre experts:
Dr. Alen Biskupović, Dr. Dubravka Crnojević-Carić, Ozana Iveković, Zlatko Krilić, Vladimir Krušić, Gordana Ostović, Igor Ružić, Dubravko Sidor, Petra Težak, Igor Tretinjak, Andrijana Vicković, and Anđela Vidović.
This year, the Festival will be closely followed by a Jury Panel composed of: director and drama educator Iva Srnec Hamer, director Boris Kovačević, and actor Kristijan Ugrina. They will announce the best of the best in nine categories at the Festival’s closing ceremony on May 4 at 9:00 PM.
The Festival is organized by the Croatian Cultural Association, co-organized and hosted by the Vodice Centre for Arts and Culture and the newly formed Association of Cultural and Artistic Societies of the Šibenik-Knin County. Material support is provided by the Ministry of Culture and Media, Šibenik-Knin County, the City of Vodice, the Vodice Tourist Board, and the Šibenik-Knin County Tourist Board.
