The town of Vodice pays a lot of attention to the protection of environment. Green fields, well-kept flower gardens, clean and nicely arranged beaches are only fragments of the visual image that a visitor will take home from Vodice. There is also a newly arranged park in the center of the town.
Before the tourist season, numerous ecological activities are carried out, year after year, in Vodice and the surrounding area: the beaches are cleaned up, and heaps of large junk are collected and removed in cooperation with the town utility service company "Lec". Furthermore, activities such as cleaning up of the coastal sea underworld are being organized in cooperation with the diving clubs.
The quality of sea in the area of Vodice is very good. Numerous swimmers who come to the famous Blue Beach during the summer months testify to this fact. The sea underworld abounds in quality fish, and the ACI Marina Vodice is the winner of the prestigious Blue Flag award.
The Blue Flag symbolizes a preserved, safe and pleasant environment intended for relaxation, entertainment and recreation, a well-defined coastal area management system, and sustainable development in tourism. Being awarded a blue flag means, when it relates to a beach or a marina, top quality tourist promotion based on high quality services, clean coast and sea, as well as on how well the beaches are maintained and arranged.
Fire prevention
A Voluntary Fire-fighting Association is active in Vodice, and there is a
professional on-call Fire-fighting Unit in Sibenik.
In summer months and dry periods, the dangers of fire and the spreading of fire are even greater.
Around 80% of all fires are caused by human mistake, so we kindly ask
you to take all actions in order to prevent causing a fire:
- Do not throw lit or flammable objects in the environment
- Do not light a fire in open spaces
- Teach your children of the dangers of fire
- Do not park your vehicles near the fire-fighting unit accesses
If you notice a fire, inform other people in your vicinity about it and try to extinguish it, if you can do it without putting yourself and others in danger. If you can’t stop the fire, immediately call the Fire Department at 193.
